Tummy Meditations

The simple practice of meditation has a profound and beneficial impact on gut health. Meditation induces relaxation through the process of slow inhales and exhales whilst practising stillness in mind and body. Meditation activates the parasympathetic nervous system otherwise known as the “rest and digest “response. This response promotes effective digestive function, efficient break down of food which in return improves absorption of nutrients. The activation of the parasympathetic nervous system reduces inflammation and helps maintains a healthy gut barrier (think of Leaking Gut Syndrome).

I often recommend my clients to practice meditation to alleviate digestive issues and ease the symptoms of IBS. 

Today I will share with you my guided Tummy Meditations. It’s a short sequence, less than 5 minutes, aimed to take you through a journey of acquainting yourself better with your GUT and its wonders. So get yourself comfortable, close your eyes, take a deep breath and enjoy!
