Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy

We offer a variety of massage therapies to suit your specific needs. Our massage treatments are carried out by fully accredited practitioners. We use organic certified aromatherapy and massage oils. Vegan and herbal infused bee waxes are also available to accommodate all preferences.

Deep Tissue Massage

This massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Unlike other massage techniques that focus on relaxation, deep tissue massage helps to treat chronic muscle tension, muscle pain and improve stiffness. Deep tissue massage uses slower strokes and more intense pressure than Swedish massage, and usually focuses on treating the specific muscles that are causing your symptoms. This treatment is performed using either a small amount of oil or wax, to enable the therapist to sink deeper in the tissues. Discuss the options with your therapist.

The Swedish Massage

The most common form of massage and usually offered as “full body” or concentrated on a particular area. This “classic massage” is an oil massage known to reduce muscle tension and encourage relaxation. It helps relieve the body from anxiety and stress by rubbing the muscles with long, firm yet gentle strokes, leaving you energised and uplifted, inside and out. We encourage communication with therapist before or during treatment, to ensure the technique and pressure is perfected for you. We have a wide range of organic oils available so please share your preference with your therapist.

Aroma Deluxe Massage

This massage is a fusion of various massage modalities. We combine techniques from Swedish, deep tissue and reflexology whilst using aromatherapy enriched oils to enhance the therapeutic effects of the treatment. The blend of techniques and the aroma of essential oils help to relieve tension, stiffness, knots, and will also make you feel relaxed and pampered at the end of the session.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are defined as hypersensitive spots within soft tissue structures characterised by local tenderness and sometimes referred phenomena. The referred sensations can include pain, tingling and numbness.  Trigger points tend to cause specific pain patterns in the body alongside various other symptoms that initially may not seem related. These can be addressed simultaneously with the release of the trigger points. The main contributing factors that to myofascial trigger point include poor posture, poor bio-mechanics, acute physical trauma, over-training, and inadequate rest. This type of bodywork is only offered by the therapists trained in Advanced Clinical Massage or Physiotherapy.

Sports Massage

Sports massage earns its name from targeting injuries that are specific to sports, whereas deep tissue massage is more specifically focused on chronic muscle tension and stress reduction. Sports massage involves the manipulation of soft tissue to aid recovery, prevent injury and enhance the performance of the person engaged in regular physical activity. Soft tissue is connective tissue that has not hardened into bone and cartilage, and it includes skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Sports massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue through a combination of STR (soft tissue release), trigger point release, stretching and other massage techniques. To enable the therapist to do deep work, wax based products will be used instead of oils. Sports massage is only provided by sports massage therapists, advanced clinical massage therapist and physiotherapists.

Ear candling

This treatment (also known as thermo-auricular therapy) is a complementary therapy that aims to help symptoms associated with the ear, nose and throat. It involves placing a hollow, cone-shaped tube (or ‘candle’) made of cotton, soaked in beeswax, honey and herbs into the ear canal.
